Amazon's spring sale has a very rare discount on the famous Le Creuset cast irons. Originally £329, the Le Creuset Signature Enamelled Cast Iron Oval Casserole Dish With Lid now ranges between £220.95 and £247.20 depending on the colour.

Elsewhere, you can get the pot for £329 at Le Creuset. The pot comes in 15 colours, including azure, volcanic, bamboo, nectar, and matte black.

Currently, the cheapest on Amazon is flint, a dark grey colour. There are several sizes of the pot available, from 27 to 40cm in diameter.

The Le Creuset pot is an enamelled cast iron dish with a tight-fitting lid. It's got even heat retention and is suitable for ovens, grills, and all hob types.

The pot has 4.7 stars on Amazon from 195 reviews. One person said: "I was surprised when first using it that the floured meat stuck and needed a lot of turning. However, it browned super quick and all that 'crustiness' was absorbed into the sauce once veg and stock were added.

"The beef bourguignon cooked on an extremely low heat on the hob so it certainly will save on electric in the long run. It looks beautiful and takes pride of place on my worktop which I usually like to keep bare."
